About me
Hello! Welcome to my website, thanks for visiting.
I have always loved books and words, and after studying English at the University of Reading – where I had a great time writing for and editing the student newspaper – I began my career as an editorial assistant in nonfiction publishing.
Over the 15 years that followed, I have worked in-house at the publishers Haynes, Quercus, Quarto, Bonnier, DK and Watkins. I have worked on over 100 books that have been published in both the UK and US – from huge illustrated tomes on fungi, whisky and photography to narrative books on neurodiversity, money and even wild swimming by moonlight…
I am currently studying for a master’s in Creative Writing and Education at Goldsmiths, University of London, where I am learning some exciting new skills and gearing up for a move to the Dorset coast. As a writer myself, I understand that having someone read your manuscript can feel huge! So I always approach edits with the care, attention and kindness they deserve. As a member of the CIEP (Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading), my preferred fees are in line with their rates.
Whether you’re a publisher looking for freelance support or an author looking for an editor, I love the variety of working on nonfiction, and can’t wait to help you with your project!
