Development editing
The vision
The first read of your book, where I look at the structure, the argument or story you’re weaving together, the order of your content and how its organised.
Copy editing
The nitty gritty
Editing your book line-by-line, correcting spelling and grammar, following your style guide, making sure your points are clear and accurate and your text is consistent.
Project managing
The big one
Taking the manuscript, and any images, and transforming them from files on your computer into a book. This involves managing the creative process, often alongside a designer, until the files go to print.
Proofreading
The final polish
Reading over your book to catch any last typos, errant spaces, untidy line endings and anything else you’d like me to look out for.
Writing
I have written copy for many professionally published books, including for back covers, sales sheets and for a wide range of audiences.
